Instagram made me quit my job

Because I was convinced of it as a perfect environment for companies to connect directly with their audience, offering added value like unique content, inspiring stories and tailored campaigns which enable creativity and lead to a win-win-situation – for the brand and the Instagram community!

I started freelancing to prove this.

For Levi's, I invented #makebikeportraits, one of the most successful brand photo contests – mentioned as best practice by several marketing publications. So far, the hashtag counts 14k tagged photos!

I won the trust of Moët Hennessy to set up and execute a compelling empty department store story at Germany's iconic KaDeWe.

For Generator, the award-winning group of urban design hostels, I created several events in European cities and invented the popular hashtag #whileinbetween.

I shot the urban originals campaign for smart.

I recently photographed 14 Berlin locations for the print issue of Condé Nast Traveller (available mid of August). 

I travelled to Tajikistan and Dubai for Starwood Hotels, visited Mauritius for Lux Resorts, road tripped through Utah for America Unlimited, visited and created content for the official tourism agencies of CopenhagenBologna, Zurich and Vienna.

Germany's leading Marketing Magazine W&V named me as top Instagrammer from Germany to know in terms of Instagram marketingAdweek published an article about me. My Instagram account Berlinstagram was featured among the top European accounts by Mashable.

I worked with brands like Smart, Converse, Universal, Spotify, Kodak, Adidas, Sony, Germanwings, The Guardian, Europcar, Davidoff Blue Water, Samsung, Air Berlin, Beck's, Nissan and Goodyear.

Amount of social media followers as from June 2015: Instagram 412k, Facebook 26k, Twitter 3k, Snapchat 2,5k.

Being on Instagram since the launch of the app, I built an expertise about the platform and its community within more than four years.

Before I decided to focus entirely on Instagram I worked many years as a digital creative in several agencies. In my last position I set my priorities on User Experience, trying to achieve the best experience for users while maintaining the needs of the brand's stakeholders. I like to compare this to what I try to do now: acting as an intermediate between the community and brands.
